Held in place with 3M double sided tape. Makes it an easy location to look at, lighting does not reflect off of any surface, back ground color set to the same blue tint as Ford OEM lighting.
Also keeps the SGII out of the heat and rays of direct sunlight as recommended by the manufacture
I have two of them - both 'mounted' on my shelf in my computer hutch...
When I had them in the truck they were velcro'ed to the bottom of the dash between the tach and speedo...
Geaux Tiga's ! Tomorrow NIGHT the season starts in the SEC !
Wonder if four SEC teams will make it to the playoffs, or will the 'block' biased voting win out ?!?
I just re-installed my SC II from my 2010 to my 2015. I mounted it in the same location, on top of the rearview mirror. I really like it there, its out of the way and looks like it belongs there, IMO. Someone actually makes a mount for the mirror which I have (and it works pretty good IMO) but I can't remember who off the top of my head.
I was going to go with a Blendmount but I realized I had the stuff in my workshop area. I had a 7 foot Cat 5e patch cable, a cat5e coupler, and 1 piece of scotch tape branded velco tape. After the parts were gathered, the a pillar was in screwed. The cat5e cable was laid in place. The connector to the ODB 2 port was connected. I spooled the extra cable from the harness in the side access. Next came the connection from the harness to the Cat5e patch via the coupler.
After the wire was run, coupled and connected, I cleaned the top of the rearview mirror and base of the SG 2. Attached the velco tape. Finally connected the wire to the SG. Mounted the gauge. Done.
Blendmount at $50 vs stuff laying around the house. It was a no brainer. Here is the final result.
To the OP, good luck with your install. I cannot wait to see your results!
I mounted mine with the suction cup fixture on the windshield such that the SGII is positioned in the 'hole' below and right of the hand hold, which is above and to the right of the left ventilation outlet.
