ok i'll start by saying that i live in southwest florida....ok heres the problem..in the mornings the truck is having issues with starting actually killed the batteries last week..this also sometimes happens after i've been driving it for awhile..so this week and over the weekend i plugged it in a night and when i went out to start it in the morning fired right up three days in a row..last night didnt plug it in and same issue didnt want to start..it turns over just fine..i use good oil filters and change the oil with 15-40 rotella every 3 to 5 thousand miles...wandering if it could be the IPR or should i change the oil hell i'm confused at this point....thanks john
the FICM was Jeopardized by the Battery's need to look deep into the Charging system . How old is the Alternator? it may need to be bench tested you don't want anything below 13.3 on a full load, this will kill some Battery's in a hurry as Cheezit Mentioned the FICM Nothing lower than 45 v other wise your putting a hurt on Injectors. Do you have any Gauges to Monitor these ?
so when things are all toasty the truck runs better , that's because the FICM is warm and oil / coolant , need Values on the ficm as Cheezit requested before Installing that the Charging system ( Has ) to be up to Snuff. Once you know Ficm is fubar give Ficmrepair.com a call Ed has a program that wont shut you down he mails you a ficm of choice you Install and mail yours back to them
i appreciate all the info i am gonna call him tomorrow everything you guys are saying makes sense....hopefully that will take care of it...i love the truck it has 235000 and does run awesome...i drive back and fourth to Michigan never any issues..just that first start if its not plugged in....
Yea it can be, that's why we all have some sort of Gauges to Monitor Values , and they help to Diagnose some problems that could leave you stranded like battery's and FICM amongst others let us know the out come OK?
