IIRC the DS2s have an adjustable advance canister...it takes an allen wrench to adjust them. AbandonedBronco is familiar with the operation...maybe he will chime in on that.
Thanks, Harte3, and I look forward to the input from AbandonedBronco.
The canister on mine is a Motorcraft unit and I have tried to determine if it is adjustable? I used a 3/32" and 7/64" Allen wrench. It just feels as though it is touching a plate or something, when placed through the vacuum nipple on the canister.
This unit was purchased as a recurved distributor from Performance Distributors in Memphis, several years ago. I have emailed, asking them if it is adjustable, without response.
Yeah, the original unit is adjustable. The 3/32 sounds familiar in size (been a little while).
It'll feel like you hit something if the size is too big, and then when it's the right size, it'll slide in further.
Once you find the right size, it seems that it's about one whole revolution per hg of adjustment. Like if it normally starts coming in at 5 hg, one whole turn will make it start coming in at 4hg (or 6). It's not small 1/8 or 1/4 turns, so don't be bashful with the adjustment.
I tried again with the 3/32" and it must be too large. My smaller wrenches are too short, so I am going to ask @ work if someone has what I need to further the testing.
