Our 1978 F-150, 300ci, three speed has finally gave in.
Looking for a direct replacement so that we can keep the 3 speed on the column.
Does anyone have a picture of this trans? I'm going to a swap meet this weekend and have an eye out for one, but don't really know what to look for other that it's a Ford side loader.
Is there an ID tag I should look for?
Also, this is a one piece drive shaft truck. I believe this is the first year for this? Unless one of you have a spare you'd like to part with.
Their really not that hard to rebuild. I have done 3 of those. The hardest part is finding the parts, but they can be found. I am sure a cpl of sponsors on the site has the parts.
problem I have found with a used one, there is a reason they got rid of it. Wore out.
