Engine hesitation, intermitent
I have a 1992 Bronco With a 302, Auto transmission.
It gives me more problems after its been warmed up or driving for 10 miles, The dist. , tranny, spark plugs, wires, ecm, have been replaced some to try to fix the problem and some just needed like the tranny, while driving at any speed even accelerating it cuts out for 1/2 a sec like if you turn the key off i tried injector cleaner different fuel. One wierd thing that happened when i was getting it smogged the tech smogged it and all emissons passed but the visual didnt i had a hole in the vapor canister i replaced that, then took it back then he said the vehicle emisions were really bad it would not pass he said to leave it with him and he would try adjustments, it did pass but he told me he didnt know why it did that . just one more thing i noticed the exhuast seems to be under slight pressure not to bad , i have heard those clogged cats before, this sound something a little less i wonder if that could be it. Any suggestions would be appreciated thank you.
But otherwise it runs very smooth and idles excellent it does have 183,000 miles on the original engine.

You should pull the codes (<-that link tells how) and stop replacing parts until you KNOW what the problem is. Get a Haynes manual &/or a Ford/Helm service CD to show you how to check whatever system the codes direct you to - it's actually pretty easy, and Haynes even has photos of exactly where to hook up a meter.
