Hey guys, I need some help on deleting the AC in my truck. Its a '90 f150 5.0. The reason I'm deleting it is because it doesn't work and I don't really want to fix it. I know there are no benefits to doing this, but since I'm pulling the engine to rebuild it I want to just remove all AC related stuff instead of putting it back on. I already removed the AC compressor. Do you just remove everything and put a pulley in place of the compressor? Thanks
I did a little more research and it seems you can just remove all the AC related stuff, but what all is there? The compressor , the radiator looking thing, all hoses, and that black cylinder thing? Lol I don't know all the correct terms. How do you remove the black cylinder thing?
Just don't bypass the smog pump. get a string and measure for a new belt since it will be smaller. On my truck I bypassed the smog pump and it works just fine.

Do you mean DO bypass the smog pump? I already have on my truck. I would like to do the same belt routing as you, but do you know the length or part #?

Right now I'm only bypassing the smog pump. That was the quickest picture I could find to show you the idea. You can just get rid of the AC and get a smaller belt. To find out a belt size use a string and wrap it the way the new belt will go and measure it. That's what I did but it you want to bypass the smog and AC do it just like the picture. If you search 5.0l belt routes it will show you different routes.

I'll see if it'll work on my truck, if so that'll save me $30 on a bypass pulley. Thanks!
