....What "group" size is our battery in our trucks? I have a carquest 65-70 in there now and the top post is leaking acid, so I need to get a new one....I know the book gives you 2 different ones, but it gives you Ford #'s and not group size...Thanks
Yours is a group 65 a 650 CCA rating and physical size for the battery box holder.
Look up CARQUEST and the battery reference for Ford. it shows your 65-70 listing.
Good luck.
go by the dealer and price the motorcraft batteries over there. 3 year free replacement and after that until 100 months it's pro-rated.....just hold on to your receipt. I work at the dealer and ford is very competitive on batteries compared to napa, orielly, and autozone, or whatever. it still is your choice of course

My experience this spring definitely confirmed this. When I was shopping for two batteries early this year, I definitely found that the dealer was one of only two sellers that still offered the decent warranty. Got two new Motorcraft batteries that afternoon!

I'm glad that someone has actually done this and can back it up. about 3 months ago Ford sent us a paper with all of the different prices of motorcraft batteries vs the competitors. if I remember correctly all of the motorcraft batteries were cheaper. some by a few dollars and some were much more.
I will have to keep this in mind.
My current battery is only a year old (and has a 3 year warranty from Auto Zone), but if I need one in 5 years or so I will look into it.
Only problem is the Ford dealer by me is know for higher that other dealer prices. I may just call around.
Yup.
I have not been there since Autonation took over, but my brother in law has (he is one that goes to the dealer for everything) and said he noticed a price increase in everything since they took over, and Champion Ford before them was not the cheapest either.
Ryan Ford in Sealy is pretty good from what several have told me, but it is 25 miles away from me and I don't drive that way often.
