Hi,
Looking for HELP...(2009 5.4L CC)
Need a new battery and wanted to use a sears; Platinum Marine Battery.
The trouble I am having is Sears only shows a group 31M and 34M size.
I am thinking the 34M will work in place of the 65 but the 34M is 7.9 inches tall. My group 65 battery is 6.75 inches tall.
Question:
has anybody replaced their battery with this Sears one or is it too tall?
thanks very much

You may not be able to find a group 65 marine battery. I replaced mine with a diehard platinum and have had no issues and have a long reserve time as well.
What are you using the truck for that you want to use the marine battery?
thanks for the reply.
I have a winch and my brother has lots of electric devices when we go camping....
I can't find a Sears platinum battery that's not marine rated. From what I know these are the same as Odyssey batteries only less $$$.
My optima red top is seven years old and still going like a champ! I put it in my old 1985 460 powered F250 with a cheap winch for a few years, then it went into my 1979 Bronco for two years, then into my 1977 F150 and then I blew the motor on the 77 so it finally was placed in its final home my 2004 in my sig...... It's been almost three years in my Super Duty and like I said it cranks everyday no matter what, jumped started dual battery diesel pickups at work and on and on and on
thanks for the replies!!
I have had issues connecting elect accs to the new non-leaded battery post clamps. The extra threaded posts on the marine battery seamed like a cool solution but spacing under the hood looks too tight for the group 34 battery.
