Hello all. This is my first post. So be easy on me. Lol I have an 04 f250 with the 6.0. Absolutely love my truck. I'm trying to add some lights to the underneath of my doors that will come on when I open the door. And go off when I close it. I'm not sure where I should wire them into. Does anyone have some insight to this? Any and all help appreciated.
There may possibly be a connector under the cab on each side of the truck tucked up somewhere that are designed for the factory lighted steps...lights turn on when you open the doors. You could try looking for these connectors, should just be a small socket with 2 wires. No guarantees your truck has them though
Was the connector under the trim on yours or under the truck?
These only light up when the doors are open/dome light is on correct?
WV is picky about white lights on the sides when running. So far I have amber under the doors but hooked into the running lights. Would be great to add white hooked into the dome light.
Mine was on the frame rail. Some have them some don't. I was lucky I suppose. They do come on with an open door but you will also turn them on if you use the button on the dash to turn on the some lights.
