well I purchased a Van Saturday just for the 8bolt turbine wheels on it. van was pretty solid and the contact person said the owner brought it from NC but didn't drive it much. price was right so I grabbed it up.
I was kind of surprised to see the 302 under the hood, and the emmissions sticker said 302 also. I took a quick look over and noticed the unhooked air pump and a catylitic convertor in the exhaust. I didn't think these emission controls were used in the late 70s.................... ok I've never owned an Eseries this old but have owned many Fseries from the 70s.
picking up on Friday, will try and take some pics when I get it home. I had to tell the wife I bought it for the wheels, and I actually did
We'd love to see photos of this new drive way ornament--must be quite a site.
Kinda shocked the Wife Unit fell for your guise though---must have caught her at a weak moment!
initially she was a little pissed , but when I told her it was a clubwagon with only 2 seats, she suggested it might be a good one to build into a camper. I'm letting her think about that one so she is accepting my purchase for now.
I saw an 87 econoline being parted out locally , might look into it and see whats left. I won't have much into this thing so might let her make up a camper plan and see where it goes.
if this thing was a E150 shorty it would be getting restored!
pics added to my gallery, hows that? not picking it up until Sat. these are the pics I was sent, van was at this location when I looked at it, moved it around.
