egr valve.
Is there a better design that the original 2006 valve I have? After bending up the tabs on mine id like to replace it is for nothing else piece of mind. I know the box stores sell them (autozone etc) I even see tons of them on ebay for cheap. Which one should I get?

Never had to replace mine, but you cant go wrong with OEM , I know they are expensive, Take a look at riff raff Diesel products they have parts and OEM stuff too
you can always bend the tabs back in place on a vise/ anvil. did you replace the gasket kit with new?

Take a wire bottle brush style brush and clean the EGR bore.Then take
a shop vac and clean out all the stuff you knocked loose. That will
help the next time you take it out to clean. When I was cleaning mine I
would do it at each oil change.
Also a little fresh engine oil on the O-rings help when putting it back in.
It may also help it to not stick when you take it out for the cleaning.
