Need Help please!
Hello out there fellow Diesel techs and owners. I have a 2004 6.0 F250. Last year I bought it and had 84K miles on it. Around when the first cold snap happened I had issues with it starting, after long research found out it was the FICM and replaced it by buying a rebuilt one off ebay from a master diesel tech. After reading his information he stated that the reason those FICMs go out is caused mainly by bad batteries. I replaced batteries and put new one in and worked perfect and had lots of power again. Well back in March I wrecked truck, someone pulled out in front of me and it went to body shop. Of course I go pick truck up and batteries are dead. Not too long after that I started to have problems again. Its stalling going down the road, starts weird, and now its got a constant misfire and runs like crap. I have been thinking it may be the FICM again but now I am seeing a little black smoke come from the exhaust and I didn't before. SO can anyone please tell me what the issue may be? Also when its misfire like, you can feel the vibration in the truck all over. Please give me some advice. Thank You

It will drain your wallet to throw solutions at this engine, take Cheezits advice and find out what codes you are showing. You can purchase a Scangauge 2 or download an application called Torque App to a smart phone requiring a Bluetooth adaptor that plugs into the diagnostic port of your truck.
