03 won't start

03 won't start

After 5 days on raining my escape will not start... It tries but then sounds like the battery goes dead tried jumping it didn't work. Took the battery to be check and it's good... Any suggestions???

Unless you did voltage drop testing, your tests are not complete. Just because something "looks" good, doesn't mean that it is, in fact, good.

If it's turning over ok until the battery wears out, I doubt it is a battery problem. Are you getting fuel pressure?

Yes I have fuel pressure, when I turn the key it's trying to turn over but does then the battery acts like its dead, turn the key off and try again and get nothing, fuel pump is cutting on but motor makes no noise. Wait a few minutes try again motor acts like it wants to turn. Did something get really wet during all the rain... It normals runs funny after a little rain, but we had 5 days on rain

It did the same thing when you jumped it too? Check all your grounds for corrosion

Well the big one is the battery, but I just saw you already checked those. It could be the starter worn out. You could try the hammer test... Have someone turn the the key on (start) while you hit the starter with the hammer. Kind of a redneck way, but if the starter is dragging that will free it up

Thanks for all your help will try when I get home. Any thoughts to why it only acts hard to start after rain!
