I posted about a week ago about my dads 04 and i still have the issue. I put i brand new switch in it with no results. The running lights work but no headlights on low or high beam. BUT they to work on high beams when you pull the turn signal lever back the whole way manually. Checked and double checked all fuses and there good. IS there a relay somewhere that may be causing this problem? Thanks
I would make sure your bulbs are good first. Then see if your getting juice to the light plugs. Make sure the lights are grounded as well. Is there any plow lights or anything on it? If so make sure there is no brake in the wires. If no juice and grounded good look at the multi switch.
IIRC the 04 has a DRL module under the dash. Whether you use it or not the circuit still goes thru the module. You may have a internal short to the module.
No plow lights. And if the lights come on with the manual switch I would think the bulbs are ok?
And what is the DRL module and can this be tested?
Just because high beams come on doesn't mean the bulbs are ok. Low beam elements could be burnt up. Not saying that is what's wrong with it but it takes about 30 seconds to check.

Yup, it's possible the low beam elements are burned out.
I recently had a car loose one low beam....replaced it and 1 week later the other side went out.
Maybe he lost one one day and didn't notice it, then the other went a few days later....then he noticed he had nothing. I would start there.

But he said that the high beams don't work when on high, they only work when he pulls the lever to signal (passing). This seems to indicate that at the very least, both high beam filaments are good. So why won't they light when the lights are on high beam?

Whoops, good catch....I missed that part.
I don't think there's a headlight relay...I would remove the headlight switch, and check for two 12V and ground at the switch connector. (I don't know the wire color offhand, but 2 wires should be hot, I'm pretty sure the yellow wire is the dimmer control wire...and it should have 12v)
I have a diagram at home, but it's no use to us right now.....
The lights are working. At least no bulbs are burnt. There is no power getting to the lights at te harness. It is getting power in and out of the switch, but with no diagram I'm kinda stumped
