I've got a 06 f250 and i think the injectors might have some stiction. I've put the hotshot secret in the oil lat oil change (about 100 miles ago) and it seems to be getting worse. I've checked the icp sensor and is fine. the truck doesn't miss but it kinda stumbles at around 15-2000rpms. do i need to monitor ipr duty cycle or anything like that?
I spent almost a year trying to get over a stiction problem the snake oil way....have a cylinder contribution test run and target the injectors that are acting up. You can polish the spool valves instead of buying new injectors. I still run the snake oil in hopes of prolonging injector life, but I didnt have any luck with it fixing itself. just my experience for whats its worth.
See if you can pull up some DTCs, how do you know the ICP and ICPV is good , what kind of Gauge are you using? may not be a bad Idea to monitor IPR and FICM ,What's VGT and boost saying?
Didn't have any DTC show. I'm just using my SCT tuner. I've got a friend who has AE and i plan on using it some time this week to see what it will tell me. i just unplugged the ICP to see if it ran any smother( it didn't). put a new FICM from FICMrepair with the lifetime warranty so that shouldn't be the problem. and the trucks boost seems to be fine, at around 3-5 just cruising then ramps up to 20-25 when standing on it.
Having the truck run worse is completely normal during the cleaning process. Give it some more time to work through the system. Sometimes it can take up to 4,000 miles for it to completely clear it up, but most notice a difference within the first 1,000
starts fine in the morning time. i can hear the VGTs go threw there cycle when i just let the truck idle for about 5 mins in the morning. truck has no problem building boost. I've driven a truck that had the VGT locked up on it. my stumble isn't near as bad as what the stuck VGTs was like.
Good call Eric, did you Install the Blue spring yet? , try this with Engine running , at the ICP connection do the pinch wiggle test , there's a grey clip that holds the three wires together , if you see white in-between them that's shorting out , pinch and slightly pull there and work your way down the harness. has the the truck stalled out or fast Idle the back to smooth running, Monitor ICPV.
it does have the blue spring installed. never stalled on me. ill try wiggling the wires for the icp today and get back with you. also is there any sensor to monitor fuel pressure?
No sensor for fuel pressure check. You need to hook up at the fuel filter housing. When is the last time you changed fuel filters? Even if it has the blue spring there could be a pressure problem, clogged filters, pump.
