New to site, thank you for having me. Drive system seems to be acting like it's in 4wd constantly and has a whine to it. Have read on the site to pull the #104 fuse under the hood. Did that and still have the jumping problem on the slow turns like it's in 4wd. Any other suggestions? This seems to have started after being in 4low. Have put it in and out of 4wd and backed up all over the place, nothing changes.
Did you check your vacuum lines running out to the hubs? These line rot and leak over time, not allowing the switching mechanism to work properly. Dirt can also get in there and plug the lines once cracked.

Pretty simple fix if it's the issue.
Don't think I want to try and go around the problem by disconnecting something. Will try to find the vacuum lines. I'll keep you posted. Thanks.

r2millers: checked the lines going into the the hub area, can't see a vacuum attachment just an electrical pin connector that ties into a 1/4" line directly from the pin connector, followed the line and it does not seem to have an vacuum pump on it, (please keep in mind I just did a quick visual with the tire on) I did crawl under the vehicle, which was short lived as it's only 106 here today and the ground was like laying on a hot griddle even with a pad down, do you know if they make an electronic activating hub as compared with a vacuum
thanks for your assistance
In that case I'd say your front clutch in the transfer case is broke. That would explain both the whine and it's inability to disengage. Once you pulled fuse 104 there was no longer any power for the front clutch. This means the problem is mechanical, not electrical.
