hey everybody just got some autometer gauges in ( cool temp, oil pressure, and volts) and i was wondering where do all these gauges go or i should say where are some good places to mount them too and where is a good place to go through the fire wall. this is going on a 95 f150 with a 5.0. if anybody got some links that would be appreciated.
On a 95 your best bet for a clean looking install is either on the windshield pillar, a gauge pod on top of the dash, or in a custom center console. The shape of the instrument panel itself does not really leave any flat surfaces to mount them.
I'm sure others will chime in with actual pics of their installs!
thanks for the help but i already have a pillar pod its just i need to know where the sensors go. like the coolant temp sensor i think i can just take out the old coolant temp sensor and install the autometer sensor there and same for the oil pressure sensor right?
I mounted my gauges on the A pillar. Coolant temp sender was installed using the autometer heater hose sending unit mount. I installed inline on heater hose that goes from t-stat to heater core. Voltmeter wiring was installed at fuse panel using those add a line fuse links that plug into fuse holder and allow you to add a fused line. The wires were all run under carpet through rubber grommet for trans shift cable. It is near accelerator pedal.
