Does anyone have experience with "white box" engine rebuilders? I have a local guy telling me he is selling from the same engine shop that is rebuilding the engine for Ford. It is dramatically lower in price, $3100 vs. $4400 from Ford. But it comes without some items, such as water pump. Not sure if I can believe the pitch. Still has a 3 yr. 100k warranty.

I've decided to replace my engine. At the end of the day shopping for parts I just do not feel comfortable with the rebuilt heads then to be left with the other side which could take me through this all over again it's just too much trouble. I'm fortunate to be able to make the choice and not have to go through the repair out of necessity. I really expected to get more miles out of this engine which I have basically babied it's entire life. I'm going with a Ford reman and will have a local shop do the job.
