1975 302. We bought the truck with headers on it. The driver side header just cracked at the flange. I have limited time to repair this but want to do the best I can. My daughter is taking the truck to college in another state in two days. I see my options as:
1. try to find a replacement header to match. I don't even know who makes this one
2.buy two new ones asap?
3.convert back to the manifolds I bought for the truck?
4.try to get it welded?
5.try to mickeymouse some type of connection to get me through until she comes home next month. If so, is there some type of product I can buy at the local car parts store that might work? I have not called them yet, but am not holding my breath.
If the metal is still sound, you could reweld it, assuming you can get to it. Other than that, replacement is the only alternative for a proper repair.
Without seeing it I couldn't really say whether the muffler patch compound that you can get at the parts store would work as a temporary repair.
