I have never actually been able to ride in a V-10 triton so I don't know how they "feel", but if it's like the 5.4 I would be happy with it. It's not that bad and a perfectly good running X should be left alone

well the 5.4 in my buddies f150 is a turd the excursion is about twice the engine it is
I can't believe we would want neg reps towards an engine swap idea let alone a powerhouse like the 6.5. Basically I wanted a few views from the experienced people on here towards the 6.5. Around here it's a bad word when you say Detroit diesel
My father in-law and brother-in-law both have 6.5s, reliable is not the first word that comes to mind and far as power they will both admit the early gas 5.3 GM's will out pull it.

Ok if they are set up properly they are reliable
Everyone knows someone who has a few old ones with issues that are original. I'm talking head and main studs copper head gaskets cooling System mods including a dmax fan
Lower compression to better handle the boost
Not just some old neglected one that everyone hate because they don't understand it's kinda like a 6.0 for gm
Also just in case there is that one guy that thinks it is a converted gas motor it is not that was an Oldsmobile 350
Sounds like a great idea. You could also go vegan, cook crystal meth, or a whole range of similarly worthwhile activities. IMO the 6.2/6.5 engines are nothing but boat anchors.
Thank you for the honest opinion that's actually what I'm looking for not for a swap into my current truck but in the future.
