Hi everyone. I am new to this site and i have an odd question.
I have a 1965 F100 single cab, short bed. It has a 240L and a t-18 transmission.
I just bought a used 1985 300L engine from a buddy to rebuild and put in my truck. When I bought it he also gave me a np435 transmission, np208 transfer case, and both front and rear axles.
Would it seem like a plausible idea to take out the original twin-I beams and build new mounts to put the Twin-Traction Beam set up in to make a 4x4 out of the truck? I can weld what I need but don't have any idea where I would start on building the mounts for the front end.

You struck gold man, get the engine rebuilt and installed, then load the old engine and all of those heavy parts for a quick turn around at the salvage yard. Get a little to help pay for the engine rebuild.
Frames are different in a 4x4 than the 2wd truck, front cross members are in a different place, besides being different. But anything can be done; given time, skills and money.
