I really like Cooper A/T3's. Great traction in the snow and wet pavement.
Haven't had them in mud so I can't comment on that.
And they are made in America!
I'm looking too, those along with the Cooper S/TMAXX,or S/T are on my list.
The Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac is also a good tire American made tire.
Sams club has the dura tracs for 1,177.58 otd with lifetime road hazard.Big O $1200,Walmart$1200
I believe the duratracs also have a rebate going on now.
Big o guy says he will sell the Cooper A/T3 for 900 otd. I need to verify if that included Road hazard. A/T3 also has 55000 warranty, not sure about the others.
A friend of mine has the Cooper S/T MAXX and he likes them allot.
You do realize that with most major tire brands, a majority of their tires sold on US soil are made in America..... right?
Agreed.
Lots of companies manufacture there tires here.
Cooper and Goodyear are American companies.
I'm sure there are more.
Those were the tires I was looking at buying, and wanted to share the fact that they are also made here,by American companies.
Thanks for pointing that out though-I really appreciate it.
Thx guys still no decision made I keep leaning towards the general grabber at2's because of similarities to bfg tread & big savings on price about $55-$60 ea just wish had more input on those tires going to be $1k no matter how u slice it & don't want to be stuck with something I hate or that sucks. Thx again.
Not sure what options you have for dealers... in Canada I stick with Kal Tire. They're all over the place, free tire rotations and tire repair, and if you don't like the tires you got from them they'll do a prorated (based on mileage) swap for something else.
Unfortunately I've got no experience with the General Grabbers to compare to BFG.
One feature of BFG related to noise that I did not mention and is easy to miss if not looking closely: they vary the size of tread blocks which breaks of the noise pattern for less tire noise from a blocky thread. Other makes may do this do; BFG is just the one I'm familiar with.
