hey guys, im new here, and i just made a trade for a 1966 ford f100. when i got the truck the power steering wasnt hooked up, so i threw a belt on it and poured in some fluid, and just as i suspected the pump started puking it all back out on the ground, so i got a rebuild kit for it and i have the pump apart, but i cant for the life of me get the pulley off, which im assuming needs to come off to replace that oil seal on the shaft. can anyone give me a little advice? is there any tricks to it? is it just tight? any help would be great. thank you
I would just guess it is tight. It will come off. Just keep working on it. My question to you is. Why not buy new pump? They are only $30.00 with life time warranty. Unless you just want to keep original pump?
I know. Pulley still needs to come off.
I would love to buy a pump but everywhere I tried said they couldn't get them anymore, I did find them on one website but they were like 110 bucks plus shipping. Do you know where I can get one? Like I said I'm new to fords so I will take any info I can get
Some one with more knowledge than I will chime in. Did 1966 have power steering? My 1965 has had power steering box added to it. I just got a power steering pump bracket for a early 70's 390 and put it on. Had a old pump that I threw on. When i get it running the pump might be bad. I will just get a pump for a early-mid 70's F-100/150 from O'Reillys for $30.00.
