C2 power steering pump

I'm trying to separate my power steering reservoir from the pump itself. They are together pretty well and I can't seem to get them apart -- any suggestions? Thanks!

after removing outlet fitting clamp pump ear in vise and tap filler neck or try gently prying off with pry bar at the ear to reseervoir points

Thanks for the reply, I actually got it to come off by hitting the pump mounts with a rubber mallet! No harm done to the pump! I'm now questioning the wisdom of rebuilding the pump myself as I finally got all the seals replaced and was putting the pulley back on when the pulley installer tool quit working! I think the threads stripped off the inside of the shaft, so I'm looking at buying a new pump after rebuilding the old one. Any suggestions on fixing the shaft so I can get a bolt to hold in there despite the stripping would be appreciated!
