Changed the plugs last night, they were fouled, smelled like gas/starter fluid and carbon'd up.
I tried to start her off her battery and the starter sounded like it was dragging? The positive battery cable got smoke'in hot. I'm going to clean the connections, I hope I didn't fry the starter.....
I replaced the battery cables and the cable going from the starter solenoid to the starter. I removed the starter and had it tested at the local auto parts store, tested good.
It still isn't starting...in the video below I was jumping the battery from another car. The battery in the truck is at 12.6 volts and good according to my multimeter?
I have tracked the current issue of no power getting to the coil to this fried wiring between the main harness and the coil. I had a guy tell me that for $500 he will "re-wire" the engine. Do you know if I can just buy this section of wiring from the plug to the coil?

$500 for that little bit of rewiring? That's a rip off, period.
The harness you need is called the "engine gauge feed harness" This is one that I bought for my project. Part number D4AZ-14289-R.

I ordered it from Caraway Ford this morning and got a good deal on it, having called the other suppliers you sent me, I think I paid the 1974 price at Caraway!

No problem, glad to help.
Yeah, what people don't realize, on obsolete parts, dealers can charge whatever they want for the part. A lot of parts don't even have a price listed anymore. Some dealers charge what their original cost was, some the original list price. Some even discount off what they paid for it. Others (Bob Allen) like to rip off the people pricewise.
These parts were written off years ago, so whatever the dealer gets for them is 100% profit.
Sounds like you found a good dealer.
Also, on that wiring harness, it's a replacement part made to fit multiple applications. The wires are longer than the original ones. I just coiled them up and secured the coil with a ty-wrap.
Also, I was looking at some of your pictures that you posted. The terminal for the coil looks like it's a female spade. Is this correct? Does your coil have little "mushroom" shaped terminals? If you do, that's the wrong coil. That one is for the Dura-spark ignition. The correct coil has threaded studs.
The reason I bring this up is the new wiring harness is setup to slip over the threaded terminal (the yellow 90° terminal in the picture)..
Interesting... when I bought the truck the coil had the mushroom posts you described, when I recently replaced the coil I went to two parts stores and they only had the one with screw on posts so that's what I installed.
They run along the top edge of the driver's side valve cover, between the valve cover and carburetor. The valve cove should have a couple of retainer clips that are held in place by the valve cover bolts.
It's not too clear in the picture but you can just see the wire along the edge of the driver's valve cover.

That's the correct coil.
The one with the mushroom shaped terminals is for the Dura-spark ignition. They use a plastic "horse shoe" shaped terminal that just slips on the coil from the side.
