I'm glad the press exposes the lax security, because the companies themselves sure won't. have you seen the "screeners?" Most look like they've spent most of their adult life at the corner bar, and see current events as a chance to get some authority. I know some are sincere, but these jobs are attracting a lot of riff-raff. I'd say the screeners are slightly less competent than our Border Patrol agents that let illegals go.
I'm for Horsepuller. There ought to be internal quality control at all airports that pursue this legally. Unfortunately, some random violations will occur that may or may not make the news. Plane crashes,..... I hope not. If the media wants to take a shot at it, they'll have to take their chances with the law.
What proof did the reporters offer that they had done what they said?
And how unusual that NONE of them were apprehended at this attempt. I could understand if one or more got through, but how could ALL of them get through without detection? Something stinks here. Either they didn't do what they said, or they had some inside help.
As to prosecution, if they had been caught, they should have been prosecuted just like any citizen.
But since they were not caught, offered no proof other than hot air about what they did, where is the evidence to prosecute? All they have to do is retract their "confessions" and the case would be tossed. I put no confidence in this story at all, and am not the least bit concerned that the next plane I get on will be hijacked.
We as citizens need to understand and accept that our safety is our responsibility. We do not need to depend on law enforcement to protect us. Their job is to Prosecute. We should be willing and prepared to defend ourselves, and the government should not pass laws hampering us from doing so.
Now that I am all fired up, let me get some work done!
The proof was in the fact that they videotaped themselves pulling the weapons out in the open while seated in the airplane. Some members of the european press did the same thing.
