I have a new to me 74 f350 with 2 fuel filters. One is a glass inline filter near the carb which I have had no problem replacing the filter for and the other is the one in the canister by the fuel pump. The old one in there appears to be made from fabric not paper and it does not have a part number on it. If anyone knows a part number and where I could get it I would really appreciate it. I have taken it in to Advance, Autozone and Napa and they all looked at me like I was from Mars. I think I can get one from LMC truck but I really dont want to wait that long for the shipping.
Are you talking about the fuel filter that's built into the pump?
If yes, it sounds like you've got one that is just a different construction than stock.
A stock paper element should work.
The one that I am talking about is exactly the one pictured. I will buy any replacement I can I just need to have a part number if someone can post one. All of the auto shops near me just tell me that they do not sell fuel filters like that
