wheel spacers - a different question

I know the importance or reasoning for hub-centric wheel spacers. Supposedly the Ford factory rims are hub-centric? Or are they lug centric?

Here's my question: in searching around for wheel spacers, I see that the hub centric ones are different for the front and the rear. The obvious conclusion is that the hub size is different.

If that's true, how could you have hub-centric rims for a Super Duty?

I'm not interested in new wheels, although I don't believe they could be hub centric anyway. I just mounted some awesome Dick Cepek Fun Country tires in 315/75/16 and they rub the back half of the leaf springs when turning hard left or right.

I also see so many non-hub-centric spacers for sale from reputable companies like Rough Country, so I'm torn.

Well, I just ordered hub centric 2" spacers from ezaccessory.com. They have a front part number and a rear part number. I'll be really interested to see the difference and how they fit. I'll be measuring the front and rear hub diameters and comparing that with the hubs on the car.

There are so many lug centric spacers for super dutys and you'd think they wouldn't be sold if there was a systemic issue with them but I went ahead and got the hub centric ones anyway.

Ex & SD rims are hub-centric, not lug-centric. Same rims fit front and rear, I have no idea why there would be different spacer part numbers for F/R positions, unless there are different thicknesses involved.
My 305/70R18 on '04 SD factory rims rub a little at full lock too, I just ease off the wheel a bit when they say ouch!

Thanks guys. Tell my wife not to turn hard over.

I'm very curious why they have a different part number. I'll post back when they arrive in a few days.

I just received my spacers from Ezaccessory on Monday and installed them Monday night. There are two part numbers, one front and one rear, the spacers are different. The rear hubs are a larger diameter so the hole is a different size, otherwise the spacers look the same. They installed nice and easy and make the truck look great in my opinion...

Thanks for posting that! Looks great!

Everyone says the Ex wheel are hub centric, so I'm really curious so see how the four same factory wheels fit on all four hubs and see the differences with the spacers. Mine are supposed to arrive in a day or two.

I should have taken a pic of them, but I forgot....I was just too excited to get them on lol.... there is a lip that protrudes from the center of the spacer that the wheel centers on (aka hub centric). On the front hubs the inside hole is a smaller diameter so that lip is thicker....on the rear spacers the hole is larger so the outside diameter is the same, but the lip is thinner for the larger hole....you'll see when you get them. The lip for the wheel is the same, so the same wheel mounts.

Also, what year is your Ex? Mine is a '00 so I had M14x2.00 lug studs....the spacers from Ezaccessory are all M14x1.5 (fine thread), but when I bought my wheels they came with all 32 M14x1.5 nuts, so I all I had to do was buy 32 M14x2.0 tappered lug nuts to mount the spacers to the hubs.....however in '02 0r '03 The Exs got M14x1.5 and the spacers will work as normal.

Just wanted to let anyone know that before they ordered. I already knew it and planned ahead. Even buying the $18 worth of taperd lug nuts, I still saved over $45 on the next cheapest set I could find that were true M14x2.0

I have a 2003 6.0. I actually don't know if the threads are coarse or fine. Ford changed the threads mid-way through 2003. I'm hoping mine are fine thread and will match the spacers.
