Where can I find wheel spacers that will effectively center the rim onto the hub?
The front of my 2002 F350 has oversized rims and the previous owner used wheel spacers to try and recover some of the lost turning radius.
The wheels rub on the leaf springs before the steering will turn from full lock to full lock.
The spacers that the previous owner used had no centering involved whatsoever. I can see that these rims and hub are designed to center the rim on the hub, and then the lug nugs just clamp things down tight. There is no centering aspect involved with the lug nuts.
I would like to get the proper wheel spacers which will center the front wheels onto the hub properly.
several manufacturers who sell on ebay have hub centric wheel spacers.
i can not speak for how they work though, i will not use spacers. i use the proper rims.
After some limited research, it seems that my taller ford 6.0 rims (which are on my 7.3 due to a previous owner) -- will effectively act upon my final drive in such a way that it will raise my gear ratio.
Explanation -- there is a 3.73 coming out of the transfer case in the form of a rear driveshaft, but because of the taller rims/tires -- I'm closer to a 3.20 final drive. I don't remember the exact number.
your 02 has 8X170 mm bolt pattern. the 8X200 pattern is for 05 and newer trucks.
if you have 05 or newer rims, then you would need a 8X170 to 8X200 hub centric adapter.
