Tow Hook Question
I believe I bought two original Ford Tow Hooks.
The hooks are marked TAA A5189 and have three holes.
Two holes are bored through for 7/16" bolts and one is tapped for a 5/8" fine thread bolt to come up from underneath.
I have a '54 F-100 and I see how the three holes will line up with my bumper and frame holes, but my bumper and frame holes are all for 7/16" bolts.
I do not want to drill out my frame and bumper for the 5/8" bolts....does anyone have any ideas and/or info on this Ford part?
Were these for F-250's and larger? or a different year?
Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes you are correct as the will not fit the f100-f350 without making the one hole larger in the bumper.
When I install these I only use the 2 rear bolts with about 4 flat washers to raise it above my bumper ( the kits came with 3 flat washers ) I add the 4th washer so the tow hook wont touch and scratch my bumper
I do not install the threaded bolt so I do not have to make the hole in the bumper larger, and if you want to remove them all looks OK
I don't think I'll ever be using my rigs to pull any Chevys out!
Question: did you win the ones on ebay this week? I was bidding against you LOL! Those did come off a 1955 F800, I saw the truck on craigslist before it was taken apart

Do you guys have a picture of these hooks,I pulled a set off a 57 at the local wrecker.Are they correct or are they different?They match the holes on frame and bumper.

should be the same up to 60 and then the cast # on the side of the tow hook was changed to a C1TE casting in 61
here is a chrome set and I'm pretty sure the casting# on these has been removed

Thanks Kevin,those are what I got.I seen a different style for a crazy amount of money on ebay,but these fit.I hoped these were the right ones.
I like the chrome idea,maybe something I need for the Ol rig!

The chrome shop did a lot of work to make those smooth like that

I didn't buy mine off eBay but I am definitely going to get the other set I found now I know the are correct!
The ones on the 57 Merc big job were painted green same as truck and bumper.Maybe a Canadian thing?
