TRS Questions

What are the symptoms of a bad, malfunctioning or disconnected TRS? I had a blown fuse the other day that caused a no power situation to the TRS and the truck seemed to shift a little weird. I fixed power problem (short in a trailer connector) and it seems to shift normally again now. I think the TRS is also the neutral safety for starting and the truck started fine but I am wondering about the feedback to the PCM if there was no power and if this situation would cause shifting issues. Fuse 5 under the hood for reverse lights is what was blown, or is this only making power for the back up lights.

If the TRS doesn't have power you will have shifting issues. Any sensor that the transmission relies on will cause issues if the computer can't see it.
