I'm replacing my engine. Got the old one out, and the up pipes are too chewed up at the turbo ends to reuse -- they couldn't form a good seal, so I need to replace.
1. Does anyone know the Ford part numbers for the up pipes? I've looked at the ubiquitous Powerstroke part number list floating around, and it says Up Pipe-see Turbo Exhaust Collector below. But it never actually lists the part numbers.
2. Ford parts may not be available even if I have the part number. Does anyone know of a vendor or exhaust shop that sells an aftermarket version of these?
3. Are there any upgrades I should consider? International makes bellowed ones which eliminate the donut seals and leaks. These are sold by a number of folks with or without ceramic coating. But they only fit the larger inlet Super Duty turbochargers, not the ones we have.
Dan, there is a version of the bellowed up pipes for the OBS. The part number has been posted a few times but Masami or Old Man Dave on TDS or PSN. Powerstrokeshop.com used to have a kit with new pipes, donuts and such. You might want to look over there. I do not know of anyone making a aftermarket piece for the OBS charger. BDP has brass donuts that are supposed to work well.
Well IDK if you want to try and search but they had a stage 1 2 and 3 cam for our powerstrokes, and if I find it I will let you know ASAP. There cams were cheap to, I mean cheaper the one for a gasser.
Shoebear, I used the brass donuts from Beans but so far I don't have any encouraging news. They have to be torqued down after a cycle of warming up. Well, mine leak and I'll be darn if I know how to get to them to retorque them. I'm going to try soon by warming them up and droping a hot DP down and who knows from there?!

Hmmm... well I have a set of the brass donuts ready to install; I thought I would use them with my old pipes, and I intend to use them with the new pipes if I get replacement old style ones. (If I get the bellowed pipes, I would return them for a refund.) But maybe I should rethink that?
If anyone else has experience with the brass donuts, please chime in.

Does anybody know how much these bellowed up pipes are? I suppose you have to remove the turbo to put them on?
Glenn, the bellowed pipes are reputed to be close to $1000 unless you find them on eBay, some have gotten them there for $100. Sounds like they are old stock, not made any more, and the ones on eBay were probably from IH dealers cleaning house.
However, I've asked my local IH dealer for a quote on that part along with a bunch of others. He'll fax me back when he has the list, and I'll post his quote when I get it.
