Fill tubes? What?

We're pulling the bed to fix the fuel pick up lines. The fill line. There's a 1-1/2" tube inside of the 3" tube? Do we have to leave those?
Can we take out the inner tube?

Thanks guys.

Yes, you need them. If you leave them out you will only get fuel in a few ounces at a time.

the inner tube is the tank vent. without it, it will take forever to get any fuel in the tank.

On the tanks there is a small vent tube in the top of the tank. These are inch and a half diameter that fuel actually goes through. This is an early 94 Turbo 7.3.

On closer inspection I see fuel goes thru the smaller tube and vents back thru the air space that is in between the 2.
Plus a small vent hose on top of the tank.

So how do you harpoon these tanks like I hear some have done?

Thanks again.

Just put them back in when you put it together, no problems.
