Locking Hub Questions
I bought MM hub today and the instructions refer to a spring and oil slinger that goes behind the hub. I seen several videos and and other instructions and none have the spring/oil slinger. My 94 F350 does not have them either. I am going from auto hubs. Is the oil slinger required?
Also there is some play in the end of the axle with the hub removed. Is that normal or a sign of wear. I saw video and there was also play in the axle. Also my axle does not have a snap ring groove and I am not seeing them on the videos either.
I have the manual style axle nuts. I wanted to verify the spring is not need and a little play in the axle is normal. I do not want to destroy my $160 hubs.
