Experienced shade tree more like it? There's no shame in that. I know plenty of amateurs that can run circles around some experts.
Shade tree? No I worked in about 8 garages/shops over the years plus I had my own shade tree shop where I was an all around mechanic including motorcycles. I drag raced my 55 Chevy race car and motorcycles at Fremont Drag strip in Ca. for about 15 years total. I had a 1980 Suzuki 1100 and later had an 1100 Kawasaki ZX 11 Ninja.
Not just an experienced shade tree guy but refused to work at a dealership.

Still doesn't add up. I've never met a racer that didn't continue to support the sport, or share their specific expertise long after they're done, unless they really sucked. You constantly disparage anything not stock. Show us what you got. Throw a blower on your rig. Port a head. Modify an injector. Just stay away from the upholstery please. LOL
