What info do I need determining whether VSC aka "cruise control" can be added to an existing Ranger? Prefer OEM for appearance and ease of install--hoping its a plug n play thing, except for the steering wheel that is.
I've done this on earlier E-Series so have a bit of experience dealing with air bags etc. Any pointers or directions to the right place would be highly appreciated.
Some Rangers that came from the factory without it are nonetheless "pre-wired" for cruise control. I'm not sure about your '08 but it (OEM install) can be done on other years.
Adding OEM Cruise Control to Ford Ranger
Thanks for the reply and the link Rocky----much appreciated.
I think I'll contact a dealership and get the price of a retro fit kit for this---that should be revealing in itself. It would be nice if the installation instructions could be downloaded beforehand----that'd be the Holy Grail if this can be easily accomplished.
Well that's the thing though Rocky---not sure what parts would be needed. The kit comes complete I'm assuming and would include the much needed instructions.
That engine and chassis are quite unknown to me and since I'd be doing this for a neighbor wouldn't want to spend his money only to find out the VSC can't be retro fitted to his particular Ranger.
