Help with spark plug issue?

2001 F-350.

Driving along, heard a loud pop and then had a misfire. Found a broken coil on plug second from back on passenger side. As you know this is a PIA to get to and you can't see in the hole so you can't see the plug. Bought a new coil pack but for the life of me couldn't get it on. Stuck my cell phone back in there and shot a picture down the hole...

So that's what I see in the picture. I can't move the plug by hand so it's not loose.

If anyone can provide any tips on what I should do? I would greatly appreciate it...

Thank You!

Spark plug blowout.

You'll need an insert (Timesert, Lock n'Stitch, etc) installed to repair. Do NOT use a helicoil or the cheap Dorman kit.

Try a long needle nose plier to remove the old plug . It must have been blown out of its threads in order to break the COP coil sitting on top of it . It is possibly wedged in , just try to pry it out .

Use one of the repair kits suggested by projectSH089 to repair the spark plug hole.
Go to (www.timesert.com) for more info.

Good luck,

What do I do about getting it out? It's wedged in there against the tube so I can't get a socket on it... Should I assume I can't do any more damage by prying it over enough to get socket on it?

Also, this cylinder has limited access and no visibility. Am I going to be able to get a TIME-SERT in there where it sits?

Thanks for the help!

some individuals bought a "bore scope " to see the threads and possible debris in the cylinder . Check Harbor Freight for a low cost bore scope . Read the info at timesert website.
Good luck,

Did all 10 of mine. All are access able Passenger side easy, driver side the back two are a little tough. There is a bracket on the firewall you can remove easily to get more room.
