AC problem...HELP.

2005 F-250 Lariat (electronic AC control)

My AC is stuck on blowing the high setting. I try to turn it down or even off but it still blows on high. I used to have a problem where it would just quit blowing but if you play with it a little bit it'll start blowing like normal and I still had control. Now it just blows on high all the time. No air is coming out of any other places besides dash vents, it switches to defrost like it should and vacuum pump works fine. What wrong???

Well now I took out the blower relay and put it back in but now it won't blow at all. Brand new relay.

Sounds like the fan speed resistor bank has taken a dump. Under the hood, passenger side on top of the evaporator housing. Easy to check and replace.

That just went over my head lol. How do I check to see if it's bad? Where is the evaporator housing? Where can I purchase one and how expensive.

Would I need a new blower? Or should the resister fix it.

You need a multimeter to check the different resistors. Your looking for continuity between the pins with a varying degree of resistance. My last post descibed where it is. If you have no idea what I am describing then you need to get some assistance.

Find the common pin and place one probe on it. With the meter on resistance check that pin to each of the others with the other probe. You should read a diff. resistance for each one. High speed will have very little if any resistance. If any of them reads open or no continuity the resistor bank is bad. Hope this helps. It's easier to do than describe.

Well I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Dealership wanted 140 for the part but it's 30 online. I'm just gonna get it and replace it myself

Quick question. Is the resister for the auto temp control the same as the one that has 4 settings??
