I have a 2005 F350 super duty. I had LPOP failure. I have replaced the LPOP gears as well as the front cover and the oil pan gaskets. I have inspected the oil pick up tube and made sure the inlet and outlet were clear.
I used white lithium grease to attempt to prime the new pump, and still cannot get it to pump oil.
What am i missing here? I am open to any suggestions.
What damaged the pump to began with?
Have you tried adding oil to the filter housing?
How long did you crank?
Did you have enugh rpm to build oil pressure?
The motor has 300,000 miles on it. I have employees who neglected the truck maintenance, and allowed it to go too long between oil changes. I found metal shavings in the pump gears as well as scoring in the pump housing. I did add to the filter housing. I cranked for 30 seconds with full batteries.
I have not changed the regulator yet, but will do so today.
I am not a professional mechanic. I own a construction company, and will need this truck soon.
