The other thing to check is if it has a tow package. The 3.55 axle would make me think it doesn't. This may or may not be an issue depending what you are towing.
How will I know it has a towing package or not?
I am pulling a car trailer with a jeep on it through Kansas and up into the mountains of Colorado. It pulls pretty nice, but I don't want to choose this vehicle if it's not going to do what I need it to.
Car guy, I have a 2001 expedition and have no heat in the front or back, did all ,the regular repaires, tstat, flush and fill, flushed the heater cores. change the blend air door motors, still no heat. what do you know that in missing
The hitch looks good. Look for the axle code on the door sticker, and check for a transmission & oil cooler. They are in front of the radiator at bumper level. The tow package also has a plug under the dash for a trailer brake, I would suggest installing one if you are pulling a car trailer.
P.S. The truck looks nice
do you have air blowing through any of your vents or is it just non hot air. does your blend door actuator motor is it getting power. if your heater hoses are good and hot and your motor works you blower works controls and everything then that should mean either the plastic actuator arm in the blend door has most likely cracked and not allowing it to open and close or your heater core is plugged up. make sure the heater hoses are on correctly and their are no missing vacuum links. i have back flushed these heater cores and gotten them to work. and does your ac work. and be sure to bleed the system completely.
well, after work tonight I go to look at it, I am nearly giddy!! There wasn't anything really major wrong with my current vehicle other than the front leather seats were never taken care of by the previous owner, and they were really torn up, and it has 200,000 miles on it. We have put a lot of money into it to keep it running, but I had it in my head that it should surely work to get me by.
Long story short, my wife was embarrassed of the seats, and wants me to trade it off, who am I to deny her of letting me buy me a newer, nicer vehicle?
Well, you know that saying " there's a million fish in the sea? well, as luck would have it, after doing all my research on this one, it was gone before we could go look at it, so I get to go look at other fish in the sea. I appreciate your help though!
