Boy! JUST WHAT WE NEED !!
If the obnoxious driver were on a Harley, had 20" biceps, fully sleeved, 6'6" tall, riding with 3 buddies of similar build on equally fast bikes, would they also get coal rolled?
Obnoxious drivers are everywhere, in all kinds of vehicles. Why punk on the Prius?
Actually, your correct. The irritation with all obnoxious drivers causes a fleeting thought of revenge to go through my mind. Including the Harley rider. Around here however (New England) driving a Prius usually is a political statement. Not always, but usually. It just stings a little more from them. Do I retaliate? No. It would be childish and unprofessional, especially since my name is on my trucks. Do I go out joy riding looking for Prius' to be obnoxious to? No. Drivers that do that are just as obnoxious as anyone else. But I think we can all agree without stirring up the pot too much that there is definitely a political angle to a lot of Prius owners. Perhaps they have the same sentiment as the people requiring the EGR and DEF systems on the newer trucks. Hopefully those systems will be better someday, but for now, not many people seem to like them, as echoed by Tuglys current thread. As far as flag burning, perhaps I should have heeded my own advice to my wife, and 'applied clutch' between conversation topics. I was not linking Prius owners to that, but suggesting that the groups imposing EGR and DEF systems on the newer diesels may also be the same groups that talk about freedom of speech for flag burning, but then turn around and impose restrictions on me. I wish that it was still possible for Ford to sell the 7.3 diesel trucks.
Lastly, as far as the Prius goes, I have nothing against it. I think it's pretty incredible that a car can be engineered to be that fuel efficient. If they could do that to a truck, I'd probably buy one. It would be a wise business move to do so. If you've bought a Prius as a financial move that's good. I have no hatred, dusgust, or irritation towards you. If however, you bought a Prius because your better than me, or want everyone to have to buy one, (which you clearly do not) then I may be irritated with you. I just wanted to clarify since so much is lost through typing as opposed to real life communication. With a business, house, a wife and 4 kids, I definitely don't have to be out intentionally hassling drivers of any kind. If I stepped on anyone's toes, my apologies.
I wasn't around for it but remember the muscle car wars back in the day well we all know were on that now just with diesel truck and the big three and we know how that turned out with muscle cars... Were headed in that direction again
Just sayin.

That might depend on where the American Flag was actually made. If it was made overseas in a country where fewer environmental protections exist, and where there are fewer regulations governing the materials utilized, then it is possible the flag might release toxins and carcinogens when burned.
Remember the rash of skin rashes from the cheap sandals sold by Walmart that were imported from China? As the case unfolded, it was discovered that the compounds in the rubber used to make the strap of the thong were toxic to human skin. Walmart eventually recalled them, but not without a few sore feet.
But back on topic, I'm curious why people mentally associate flag burners with Prius drivers? Did they actually observe a Prius driver pull over to the side of the road and burn a flag? What is with this automatic leftist lumping together of flag burners with people who are environmentally conscious and economically shrewd?
It was President Bush who paid me $3,400.00 to buy a Prius. Not a $3,400.00 tax deduction off of income, but a $3,400.00 tax CREDIT, dollar for dollar against any federal tax I owed, that could be carried forward for as many years as necessary until the credit was exhausted. Bush signed the Energy Bill in the fall of 2005, which did not offer any incentive that lucrative for an American branded vehicle. Why? Because no American branded vehicles was anywhere even close to being as energy efficient at that time.
Yep. +1 to that.
Smokie
I must be getting old also, because even though I am very proud of my F-350, it is a truck, and trucks are for hauling and towing. I am also proud of the fact that my all stock 7.3 that we bought brand new in 2002 never makes smoke. It just pulls hard and goes up and down the road like it was designed to do.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
. Not to try and derail this tread
, it really pisses me off to see diesel owners who's sole purpose seems to be to intimidate everyone else on the road. I admire owners like yourself who tastefully tweak the extra power from your rigs without trying to make it into a street legal soot factory
.Who needs a 10 inch smoke stack in the middle of the truck bed
?
