About a year ago an injector was replaced and ever sense then fuel is getting into the engine oil. It is now 1.5 gallons over full at the end of a 400 mile run. Can an injector cause this and how is the fuel getting in the oil???????????????
Do a Bubble Test First thing before teardown see if there a Bad inject Its an IMPORTANT TEST that must be done However it may just have a Simple Injector oring that got Cut upon install or didn't seal due to dirty injector cup Hard to say what you will find But the truck needs to be together to preform such test
Yes you best rering ALL Injectors amnd play very close Attention to the inject that got changed
You guys remember anothony video on this anyone have the link or a fast search should find it
He took it alittle further than just a Bubble test and I really Like how he pressurized it with the fuel pump with the Valve covers Off you could see the fuel leaking into the Upper valve area around the bad injectors with leaky fuel rail orings
Benny You jinxed me the other day
Little project went from small to big.
Anyway What I think he did was to isolate the fuel supply
and only supply pressurized fuel to one side at a time while
the drain plug was out of the oil pan with a bucket to catch
the leaking fuel when he found the side. Once he knew what
side then he was able to show the offending injector that did it.
It's too bad I don't have the link.
A wiped out fuel control O-ring will leak fuel into the engine
by way of the valve area. Bet you may find that the replacement
injector was put in dry or the O-ring got nicked on the way in.
The only other thing would be a crack in the head and I don't know
if that would lead to the oil system side. I do know that it can go into
the coolant side.
What ever you do you DO NOT WANT TO HAVE A RUN AWAY
Very bad JUJU with a chance for a lot of expensive carnage and parts that
try to depart the engine block.
I haven't seen a 6.0 do it but a v16149 ya don't want to be anywhere near when it runs away. Cleared the back deck of that barge in about 1 minute. 15 men all trying to find a hole to hide in at the same time. And no hole available.
Thank you all for the replies and I am aware of the dangers not only to the crankshaft but to the run away possibilities. I needed conformation that the injectors could cause this problem. With 240K on the engine all the injectors will be replaced with special attention to lubing O-rings and careful installation of the replacements.

Most common cause is inject orings Followed by Injector Itself leaky Cups/head or Bad inject Hold down
Do you have any smoke out exhaust?? if Not Injector itself probably OK
I would suspect it comming from the top of the injector body as stated prior.
About 3 to 4 small bottles of oil dye in the fuel filter housing and a black light, pull the valve covers and run the engine on high idle look for the dye around the injectors. Make sure not to get caught up in moving parts with the engine running.
Ok you guys are the best. Using dye we found the injector that had been replaced in California by a Ford Dealer mechanic had a leaking O-ring. That injector was resealed and another injector that was not up to par was replaced. The truck has all the power it had when new, wonder how many miles these engines will go.
Thanks for your help.

WHOAAAA NELLY! Run for your life.
When mine filled up like that, it took off. Ranaway big time. Never saw such a thing, and never want to see it again.
That engine can run by itself off that diesel in the oil and the only way you can stop it sometimes is to shove something in the intake, which ain't too easy on these engines. It could well blow up throwing parts everywhere while you're trying to yank out that air cleaner.
You don't live within a hundred miles of Houston do you? I wanta warn the neighbors.
