Does adding Fuel Injector cleaner or other additives that you can add to your gasoline really help?
As i have made post before about my explorer taking a few seconds to fire up after turning key to start, just trying every little thing that's inexpensive that I can try.
I was told that in the winter months there is more alcohol contant added to the regular fuel at gas stations ( live in Minnesota ).
Isn't the fuel now a days better in cleaning fuel injectors and so forth or should additives that you can get from auto stores still worth putting into the gas tanks?
And if so, what is the best to use?
A shop owner I know swears by Techron. That's the stuff in Mobil gas I believe. It's also sold in the bottle. I've been putting a bottle in the tank twice a year since fuel-injected cars were started and I've never had injector problems....ever.
I work at an auto parts store in Minnesota, I swear by Lucas fuel injector cleaners. The bottle also says it is an upper cylinder lubricant. Some of my employees love the Chevron fuel injector cleaner with Techron, which was mentioned by the previous person that replyed to your post. Also a customer came in one day and says that he adds Marvel Mystery oil to his cars fuel every so often and has never had problems with fuel injectors. Hope this was a help to you.
