Question New turbo - questions

I ordered a new Garrett turbo and I am wondering what I need to install it.

I see turbo install kits all over ebay, which appear to include some bolts, a gasket and some o-rings. Just wondering if I really need this kit? all I can find are Dorman kits, which I am leery of.

I also remember there is some sort of exhaust gasket (ring) between the turbo and exhaust inlet, I am assuming I need to replace this gasket? anybody got a part #?

There is an oem install kit. Its about $12. There is an updated drain tube and an updated supply line. Your truck may already have the all steel supply line though.

its an 2006 model year with 2005 build date. I have already installed the updated oil supply line and I have the new drain tube ready to install with the new turbo.

If you have the drain tube you already have the oring on that. If your 3 bolts are good you can reuse them. The only other gasket is on your supply line which I have reused and have not had any problems. There is no gasket for the exhaust.

That's the answer I was looking for. I have no idea what the condition of the bolts are. I may get a seal kit, just to be safe.

If anybody knows the part # for the OEM install kit, let me know... Please.

That paper gasket was the start of my 4th of July headache.
Just being stupid was the finish if it.
