Hey y'all. My 2011 F350 is shaking like a wet dog, all the time, loaded with a trailer and empty. It's the whole truck, not just the front end or rear end. It'll shake a Dr Pepper flat in 10 mins. No one can figure out why. Maybe y'all can think of something.
Here's what we've done
New tires, balanced
Alignment
Replaced ball joints and sway bar
Replaced carrier bearing
Replaced passenger front hub that got mysteriously locked and henceforth destroyed.
Replaced all 4 shocks
Any ideas on where to look next?? Guess I should mention is 4x4 dually with 177,803 miles.
At what point did it start...can you tie it to any mods or repairs...at one point I specialized in vibrations and this would have been my first question to the customer before test driving it.
My 2012 f250 xtracab does the same thing but I believe it is tire wear. I have 2 sets of tires and as soon as I rotate a new set the truck shakes. I had it re-aligned and have had the tires balanced multiple times. I thought maybe it was the rims but I have 2 sets and both do it! When I hook up a trailer it gets worse. Drives me nuts .
It started about a year ago, there was no real set point, we just noticed it one day.
We will check u-joints. It seems slightly worse at 60-65mph, then again at 75, or with a trailer on it, but it does it all the time. We've put 2 different sets on, all at different times, and kept up with rotations, never changes it. It doesn't do it sitting still.
Assuming truck is stock, I would go thru all steering/front suspension components with fine tooth comb. Pick a solid independent allignment shop that has verified truck history.
Like was suggested, drive shaft....maybe it threw a weight or ujoint is failing.
Then I would look at tranny.....
Good luck.
