Spark Plug Change Time Again

Ok, so seeing some confusion again on spark plugs but not finding any clear confirmations. 2002 6.8L V10.

Manual says Motorcraft AGSF-22W Platinum.

Advance or Rock Auto, or O'Reilly's says SP-479.
SP479 described as: Ford Service # (old) AGSF-22W-MF4, (new) AGSF-22W-M
Another site says:
Platinum-Nickel Plated Shell
Motorcraft Nickel-Alloy Spark Plugs
Feature electrodes engineered for extended life without platinum enhancements
Alternate to platinum-enhanced spark plugs

So, it appears no more platinum on the Motorcraft plugs, but everyone I recall strongly recommended using only the Motorcraft for this engine.

Some reference to use NGK platinum, but this one is a fine wire plug and advance says not recommended. So very confused here.

Thinking just keep the Motorcraft and just not expect the long life out of them. I changed at 100K to the Motorcraft, but don't recall what number they were. Looks like they have been changed and likely they are the new nickel one's anyway, but at 175K now, seems they are ready for a change.

I will confuse you more but a great way to go; Use Autolite 103's in the flavor of your choice, they are the same as Motorcraft. I use the standard 103's myself and change them often to keep them fresh and keep an eye on the boots and holes...........well worth it.

Looks like there is some platinum somewhere on the SP479's. I did find some reading on the Autolite plugs not being able to last on the 6.8L engine....dunno, but there are some folks out there claiming this. More confusion. Geez.....

Don't confuse your self to much Autolites will do fine also. They are just spark plugs as long as you don't get some crap like Bosch. Stick with Motorcraft or Autolites you will be fine

And Autolites are cheaper but the same thing, plus you get choices with them.

Autolite was the manufacturer of Motorcraft plugs - might still be.
