Dashboss question?

Is it normal to have to re start the dash boss app every time you start the truck? I replaced my scan gauge with it and I'm a little disappointed so far. It works well, just seems like a bit to much effort to use.

That has been the norm for me. There are also times that my phone will show that it is synced, but the app is still searching...

I also just replaced SCII with DB...yes, you have to restart the app every time you start the truck.

Even with that, I prefer the DB since I can monitor 12 PIDS simultaneously...

Still trying to figure out how to get video onto my Pioneer Nav/Radio system though...

It's great when it's up and running tho. Plus it's expandable where the SG isn't. Hopefully there will be some fixes in the near future. Definitely some pros and cons with it.

It does work good, no arguments there. The minute it takes to lock on and start working seems a bit excessive, just wish I had known more about it.

And that depends on the size of your screen (I'm assuming you mean watching at once) -- but how many can you data log and look at later?? Just as only one simple reason you might want to go DB over SGII (some use both)...

BTW: Torque isn't much better, sometimes I have to restart, sometimes it just re hooks up. What you all need to understand is you just need to give it some time to sync to the PCM before twisting the key to start.

I frankly don't see the big deal, these apps are Applications that are Programs, not just some text based see only 4 at a time PIDs and how many was the total?!

Maybe you guys should consider running both? One for every day and the other for trips?? If I ever switch to an i-something, it'll be DB I go to.

Maybe it's just me since I learned to program back when we used punch cards...

So the complaint is having to re-start the App each time the engine is started?

Sure SG can be started before KOEO, but...

Can SG datalog?
Can SG show visual alerts?
Can SG show audio alerts?
Can SG show 12 Pids at once?
Can SG easily add another pid in seconds?
Can SG look like anything else besides a 1980 pocket calculator?
Can SG be hooked up wirelessly?
Can SG actually pull CEL codes reliably?

If a 6.0 owner is really that much of a hypochondriac that they need to monitor every second they're sitting in the seat, maybe they should look elsewhere.

It's just more of an inconvenience than anything for me. I really only fire it up a couple time a week so it isn't a big deal. If I run into an issue where in need KOEO readings I have access to a SG.

I need to get off my lazy *** and install the EGT and FP kit.

I have both the scangauge and dashboss, I use the dashboss on trips and to datalog, that feature is awesome, but for everyday driving I use the scangauge, mainly have it set just to see my deltas and voltage and ficm main volts.

I guess I am glad that I still have the DashDaq - even though it won't display FICM MPower.

It is unfortunate but they all have their limitations.

Posts like this are very helpful to folks who are looking to add some gauges

I can tell you what I paid for Torque Pro: $4.95 for the App and forever updates and anything else I buy that is Android the same license works for... Oh yeah, and I think it was $12.51 for the ODBII Bluetooth interface (they are cheaper now) off eBay.

But let us not go down that path -- if the better thing cost $300 for me to send my sweetie off on a trip and not worry about her? (guys I am talking about my Wife here!), I'd drop the dime in an instant... For that is priceless...

These are some cool tools to help us with our way bad cool trucks, so it's all good...
