steel wool 0000 .... water spots

I know there is no sure fire way but I'm looking for the best method for removing water spots. My windows are in need of some help. It's my 94 flare side. I've heard of steel wool 0000. 2000-3000 grit sand paper. tooth paste. buffer with compound. I was thinking of replacing all my glass with new ones but want to try out some things first before I throw money out the window for new glass. All comments suggestions are appreciated on this issue. Thanks fellas.

Never use steel wool, that will scratch up the glass. I use CLR(calcium, lime, rust remover) to remove water spots that are stuck hard on glass.

From what I have seen, bar keepers friend work great for removing water spots.

I have used steel wool and windex. If they are that bad I use a razor blade and windex. If you use a razor blade go slow and keep it FLAT against the glass and even pressure.

Eastwood has a couple of different products for mild to deep scratches. By the time you get todeep scratches, however, it can be better just to replace the windshield, especially if you frequently find yourself driving west at dusk. Griot's garage has glass polish, which works great by hand with a micrfiber towel to get rid of light haze / spotting.
