Are there similar/same bolts, like our F-series trucks, under the instrument panel that hold the shifter cable housing in place?
I have a neighbor who has a loose shifter lever, and has an intermittent no-start condition. His mechanic keeps changing batteries instead. Is THAT nuts, or what?
If the van has a similar design, should I be able to easily find those bolts? Will they be Torx-head?
Methinks the mechanic is not so much a mechanic as a parts changer . . .
To keep it on topic, I just looked up the diagram for an '01 E350 PSD, and it does appear to be the same setup with the 2 torx screws. Oh, and it looks like it also has the plastic shift tube bushings that look like they were designed to fail.
