65 trim color help.

Okay, non custom cab, steel grill and front bumper. (we) were having a discussion today about what color is correct for 65-66

I think it's Wimbledon white, a couple other guys thought it was Pure white

which is correct for this year, did they offer more than 1 color if your steel grill and front bumper was painted?

Thanks

From what I've seen, Wimbledon White if painted. I've never seen any grille or bumper painted any other body color from factory. Of course I didn't see every vehicle that left the factory, but.... from what I've seen, what I've read as well as what others have said I've not seen anything that disputed Wimbledon White.

1964/66 exterior paint COLOR codes ~ C = Pure White / M = Wimbledon White.

1961/66 grilles and bumpers were usually painted Colonial White, which is a bright white.

However, if the truck was painted a non standard color (like Coca-Cola Red), the grille and bumper may also be painted this color.

The grill on my 66 is still sporting the factory-applied original Wimbledon White.

So was the original bumper (which was tweaked) before I pulled it off and replaced it.

How do you know it's Wimbledon White? This is an off white, aka a creamy white.

My 1965 F100 Standard Cab (I bought it new March 1965) was Wimbledon White, its painted grille and bumper were bright (Colonial) white.

I bought some Wimbledon White in a rattle can to paint the new (well...used...but straight) bumper I bought for it. I painted it and installed it and it's as close to a perfect match to the grill as I think is possible.

I guess unless I find a way to teleport back in time and look at the paint being applied to my truck and verify on the paint container that it's Wimbledon White, then I can't be 100% sure.

my 65 is all wimbledon white as well, grill, bumpers... everything the same. that is why i thought wimbledon white was correct for 65-66 trim. do you see any difference in the color?

Trim color

All I've seen and read is that colonial white was Fords trim color in 65-66 even if your body color was Wimbledon . I think colonial is an awesome trim color even if it is incorrect. Just my opinion. Thanks Bill
